Racine
History will tell you that Racine was either a French writer, the location of Al Capone’s alcohol racket or the place where Sean Connery was gunned down in the untouchables. Racine is now a Leeds based 4-piece band making cosmic English music.
“Racine appear to be looking at a completely different soundscape to many of Leeds’ loveable pop bands. They come off like The Verve being f*cked by the Stones” (No Title Magazine)
The Crowther Brothers (Ben vocals and guitars and Jonny lead guitar) are backed by the rhythm section made of Mark Brown (bass, heroism and backing vocals) and Danny O’Grady (sticksman). Racine have been together for 2 years although the brothers have been writing together/living in each others pockets/making music for years. The band have gigged up and down the UK and are beginning to make scars on the memory.
Praise for Racine
“Lyrically awesome, melodically intoxicating, band in the pocket of tight pants” (Garageband.com)
“A voice capable of truly portraying the emotions of the songs they belted out” (21st Century music)
“A timely return to cultured head-nodding music” (No-Title Magazine)
