Catch The Fabulous Rudies on this summer's Warped Tour.
Over a decade on the scene & their upcoming, 5th Warped Tour, The Fab Rudies sound is an eclectic blend of styles with a heavy dose of lively, infectious energy reminiscent of the best of 80’s ska but with a modernized, intelligent feel. The Fab Rudies have finished their new CD EP, HELP ME, to be released this summer of 2010 on Fun1One Records. They have often been compared to No Doubt but with a harder edge, and according to the band, the comparison has been both a blessing and a curse. Kevin Lyman, founder and organizer of the Van’s Warped Tour, said that The Fab Rudies are “on the crest of the next wave in alternative music.” And why not? The revamped Fab Rudies possess all the attributes for success with their New Release, their best & heaviest CD yet, as they join Warped 2010 this summer!
The Fab Rudies are fronted by the teen singing sensation, Kailyn Voris (her fans say Justin Bieber has nothing on her). Kailyn recently signed a contract with Zuri Models & Talent and is featured in many commercials, print ads, etc. Kailyn, as well as The Fab Rudies, will be featured in the sequel to the movie, Hole In One, called Beach Bar – The Movie, to be finished filming summer of 2010, and to be released by Universal Pictures in theatres in 52 countries. The rest of The Fab Rudies current line-up are made up of young seasoned veterans hand-picked by founding member and singer, Tom “Tommy2Rude” Voris and are sure to delight even the casual listener. 2Rude mans the male lead vocals and provides the experience and political edge behind the group. Lead guitarist and Music Institute alum, Aidan Spencer, can shred with the best of them. Listen to his solo from the new CD on the song, Tears of a Clown. Rhythm guitar duties go to Chris Dobbins. When he’s not playing with the rudies, he’s playing with his other band, San Diego Punk outfit, Best Regret. His brother & Best Regret band member, Cody Dobbins, helps from time to time with the fab ones on drums and percussion. Bass player, Alec Erickson, is from the now defunct classic rock band, Midnight Rose. Eric Halseth, rounds out the line-up as one of the best drummers on the scene, and has been in various bands to include RoadRunner Records, Red Tape, and NoCal punk outfit, Betty Rage.
While on the tour, The Fab Rudies will knock you off your feet and then make ‘em move. It’s real music with teeth. Their sound will HIT you with fist pumping, heart pounding rock; at the same time, get you on the dance floor with a groove that will keep you movin’ all night long. The Fab Rudies are not to be missed. Check out their music at www.myspace.com/fabrudies. Also check them out @ www.myspace.com/punkrockhs. Two of their songs are featured on the Soundtrack for PUNK ROCK HIGH SCHOOL available on iTunes now.
