One listen to Fake Your Own Death and its easy to feel as if the landscape has shifted and nothing will ever be the same again. The band has the ability to sound fresh, vital and earnest and at the same time vintage and honest; pointing the way towards a poetic and surreal future. The music is as literate, brutal and infectious as the Mission District in San Francisco where they live. In 2009, Terry Ashkinos, David Lentz and Keith Ensign started a recording project with producer, Sean Beresford (Run DMC, Third Eye Blind). Hailing from such indie bands as Elephone (SF), Univac (LA) and American Mars (Detroit), the recordings that would become Fake Your Own Death came out so naturally that all three decided to abandon their other projects and develop into a band.
"Their songs are really good, like if Interpol decided to play faster and have some hard rock riffs." SPINNING PLATTERS
"The music is a mix of Joy Division, Love and Rockets and The National......I haven't been this excited about a local group in quite some time. Get to know them." (Front Porch Musings)
