"What a breath of fresh air....good, solid rock n roll. Love Michael's voice...” - Diane Michaels / PD, KPND
Record Release July 24th 2010 with a release party at the Rockit Room in San Francisco and a short West Coast tour to follow.
“I’m on my own but I’m not alone” sings Michael Shapiro, a former solo artist with a unique and dark history of industry experience. His former band Trip had success, being featured on VH1’s Rock Across America tour alongside Cheap Trick, Duncan Sheik and Edwin McCain, but fatal tragedy struck in February of ‘03, when after a show in Rhode Island at The Station a pyrotechnic fire ignited the club’s sound insulation foam, engulfing the entire nightclub. After the trauma of the incident, Shapiro attempted a solo career, even landing an opening spot on famed band Live’s tour, but was still overwhelmed by the incident and distanced himself from his music. Enter Reckless in Vegas, Shapiro’s comeback endeavor, a band so tight and personal that on their new release “All In”, Shapiro drives home that he is back in the game, confident that he is on his own but not alone, this time joined by seasoned drummer Ryan Low and bassist Brian Wilkerson, a similarly well-established Bay-Area musician. Industry moguls have taken notice. Legendary producer Sylvia Massy, Rick Rubin’s studio cohort, who was responsible for working Tool’s double-platinum debut Undertow, as well as releases from the likes of The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Johnny Cash, recorded All In at her Weed, CA RadioStar studio. The band has been picking up momentum, having their single ‘Old Friend’ chosen to be spun regularly on famed San Francisco radio station KFOG and their "Local Scene" collection in August.
